In relation to the murder of a 30-year-old lady, whose corpse was discovered buried in the Nahargarh forest region, two persons were detained on Thursday, according to the police.

Lakshmi, a citizen of Nepal, was killed by the two suspects — Swapna Mandal and Suman Vishwas — in April of this year, according to Chitrakoot SHO Balbir Singh.

According to the SHO, the two suspects who were detained in connection with a prostitution case confessed to murdering the lady while being questioned.

He stated that the lady had interacted with Mandal in November 2022.

He said that the two suspects were detained after District Special Team (DST) SHO Ganesh Kumar Saini filed a report on Wednesday alleging that they were engaged in a prostitution ring.

Singh said that the two suspects admitted to murdering the lady and burying her corpse in the Nahargarh forest area’s hills during questioning.

According to the SHO, the corpse was excavated on Thursday and will be subjected to a DNA examination.

According to police, a complaint has been filed against the two suspects under IPC sections 370 (trafficking), 201 (murder), and 302 (murder causing evidence destruction).
