Build case for Shivam Dube’s T20 World Cup selection with Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan

Two of India’s most successful white-ball cricket players have taken notice of Shivam Dube’s remarkable performance in the current IPL (Indian Premier League) and believe he should be included in the country’s T20 World Cup team.

Shivam’s power-hitting position for the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has pleased both Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan, and both former players think he may be a major factor for India in the major event in the Caribbean and the USA.

If I had been the selector, Irfan said to Star Sports, “I would definitely select.”

“I’ll be closely monitoring him. And because he’s killing the spinners, I would definitely include him in the T20 World Cup team. He is not required to go out and attempt to set himself up against spinners. And we have seen this in both the current IPL and the previous season, when he faced off against competent finger and wrist spinners.”

Irfan also mentioned Shivam’s ability to shut down seamers, citing his background in Mumbai, where pacers can use the red soil pitches to their advantage.

“Remember, he can also hit well against quick bowlers. It is often forgotten that he is from Bombay. You’ll also notice a lot of bounce in Mumbai. Thus, he’s not as awful either,” Irfan continued.

However, Yuvraj Singh believes Shivam Dube should be included in India’s World Cup team since he has the ability to be a game-changer.
