Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, claims that Luis Rubiales’ kiss “Should Never Have Occurred”

Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, declared that it “should never have happened” for Luis Rubiales to kiss Spanish women’s football player Jenni Hermoso in the mouth.

In his first response to the incident that occurred at the presentation ceremony after Spain defeated England in the Women’s World Cup final, Infantino said that the event had been “spoiled” by the behavior of Spanish federation chief Rubiales.

What transpired after the final whistle, according to Infantino, “spoiled the well-deserved celebrations for these magnificent champions.”

“And what happened in the days that followed. This shouldn’t have occurred at all.

Four days after the Sydney final, on August 24, FIFA initiated disciplinary procedures against Rubiales. During the course of the inquiry, he was subsequently temporarily banned from all national and international football activities for 90 days.

“FIFA’s disciplinary committees took the required steps right away and took up their responsibilities. Infantino, who was present at the trophy ceremony after the final, also said that the disciplinary actions will go according to their proper process.

“We should keep concentrating on ways to help women and women’s football in the future, both on and off the field. upholding moral principles and showing appreciation for the players’ excellent achievements as well as for who they are as people.

Jorge Vilda, Spain’s contentious Women’s World Cup champion coach, is expected to be fired as a result of the controversy that has engulfed the Spanish Football Federation.

In response to Rubiales’ violent kiss on midfielder Hermoso’s lips, almost 80 members of the national squad are on strike until the RFEF’s leadership is replaced.

Vilda, who last week cheered a speech in which Rubiales defended “false feminism” and refused to resign from his job, subsequently criticized Rubiales’ “inappropriate and unacceptable” conduct.

Vilda refused to resign following the Rubiales incident even though the bulk of Spain’s coaching staff did so when Rubiales publicly revealed the coach was in line for a new contract with a significant salary increase.

Although Vilda is said to desire another position in the federation if he departs his present job, reports in Spain on Thursday claimed that the regional presidents of the RFEF had agreed on the need of Vilda’s resignation at a meeting on Monday.

The interim RFEF president Pedro Rocha said, “We can’t say that (he has been fired) until next week because we haven’t met with Vilda.”

“Once we do, we’ll convey the pertinent information… The most essential thing is to communicate and listen first.

Despite backlash from some when he too welcomed Rubiales’ remarks, Rocha said that Spain men’s coach Luis de la Fuente, who guided the team to UEFA Nations League victory in June, would remain in his position.

He has the support of every member of the federation, thus he will definitely remain, according to Rocha.

He puts forth a lot of effort and is doing well.
