Harbhajan praises Bumrah for his superb bowling against RCB, calling him “clam and composed.”

Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah of the Mumbai Indians received high praise from former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, who called him one of the “superstars of the game.”. He praised the right-arm pacer’s “calm and composed” demeanor and his dedication to improving himself.

In MI’s commanding 7-wicket victory against Royal Challengers Bangaluru (RCB), Bumrah had his best performance, finishing with statistics of 5-21, while all other bowlers battled to finish with an economy rate of more than 10 runs per over.

“There is a significant difference between seeing him bowl on day one and today. He’s picked up the game rather well. Additionally, he was quite explicit about where he wanted to throw the ball even as he was speaking with Sanjay Manjrekar, sir. And regardless of the game’s circumstances, you read them and don’t bowl, even when you truly can’t bowl,” Harbhajan said on Star Sports Cricket Live.

Bumrah took a crucial wicket of Virat Kohli in the third over of his five-wicket haul, his first against RCB in IPL history. An over later, Bumrah sent Will Jacks back to the hut, putting RCB in a vulnerable position.

Then, to completely destroy the bottom order of the RCB, he showed off his death bowling skills by dismissing Vijaykumar Vyshak, Saurav Chauhan, and Mahipal Lomror in just nine balls.

“You bowl like you have been practicing. And he looks to accomplish just that. Even if he gets five wickets today, he will still go back and watch his own films tomorrow to see where he can get better because he wants to learn something new every day. And he’s so serene and at ease,” Harbhajan said.

After taking five wickets against the Royals, Bumrah’s season total of wickets surged to ten in five games, propelling him into a tie for first place in the race for the Purple Cap with spinner Yuzvendra Chahal of the Rajasthan Royals.

He is the best at handling stressful situations of any person. It’s a batting game, so people speak about Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni a lot. However, when discussing the game’s superstars, he is, in my opinion, without a doubt the IPL’s biggest star. His number illustrates how much he has grown from day one. On his day, he seems to win nothing at all.

“How many batters have really done that? Three or four batsmen, if you count, but just Bumrah or Malinga across the board when it comes to bowlers. So, absurd,” Harbhajan said.

“The main thing is that he wants to improve every day and learn new things. He said, “And he’s still very calm, very humble, and very, very hardworking. He starts his preparation at the nets.”

Notably, the 30-year-old pacer’s outstanding bowling against RCB led to his selection as Player of the Match.

The former spinner, however, complimented Mumbai Indians batsman Suryakumar Yadav for his outstanding 19-ball fifty-nine as MI managed to reach the 198-run mark with 27 runs remaining.

Surya played in his second game of the season on Thursday after a lengthy injury layoff. He was unable to play cricket due to a sports hernia operation he had in January of this year in Munich, Germany.

Surya was compared by Harbhajan to the legendary South African batsman, AB De Villiers. “You don’t want to see anybody when Suryakumar Yadav is on your wavelength. I consider this man to be an improved version of AB De Villiers. He’s played in more games for this team than anybody else in this format, so he’s a tremendous player. If I were on any other team, I would take him first if he entered the auction,” he said.
