PBKS Fast Bowler Nathan Ellis Arrives in Style for IPL 2024: “Jatt is Here”

Nathan Ellis, an Australian pacer, is in India to play for the Punjab Kings in the next Indian Premier League season.

The Punjab-based club posted a video of Ellis arriving at the team hotel on Instagram on Sunday.

At the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Mohali, where they will also play their home matches in this season’s IPL, PBKS has established their pre-season camp for the 2024 IPL.

While the remaining players are scheduled to join the team this week, the bulk of the squad, including skipper Shikhar Dhawan, have already begun their preparations at the training facility.

With the Instagram remark, “Sadde Nathan jeha jatt milda ae rare, [you will hardly find someone like our Nathan],” PBKS welcomed Ellis’ birth in a desi fashion.

Ellis seemed to have picked up a good understanding of Punjabi culture. The Australian bowler was spotted doing a bhangra before addressing the crowd in his mother tongue.

In the midst of the 2021 IPL season, Ellis first signed with PBKS, taking Riley Meredith’s spot as another fast bowler from Australia.

on August 20, 2021, Ellis made news when he scored a hat-trick against Bangladesh on his international debut. Before getting retained for Rs 75 lakh at the 2022 auction, he was able to participate in three matches during his first IPL season.

Ellis played in ten games and took 13 wickets in the previous season.

P&B Kings have only been in the championship game once, in 2014, losing to Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets in an exciting match, despite having some excellent seasons.

In the first-ever IPL in 2008, PBKS made it to the semi-finals but was unable to go to the summit match.

The 2024 auction took place in December of last year, and they managed to bring in several exceptional players from various departments. They paid Rs 11.75 crore to recruit Indian pacer Harshal Patel, breaking the bank in the process. Additionally, they have signed English speedster Chris Woakes and South African hitter Rilee Rossouw.

On March 23, PBKS will play Delhi Caps at home to start their IPL 2024 campaign.
