Ravichandran Ashwin receives compliments from Rahul Dravid and Ravi Shastri

Rahul Dravid wishes he didn’t announce his retirement too soon. For a minimum of another two years, Ravi Shastri would want to see him torment batters, and Anil Kumble finds it confusing that he doesn’t play often in India’s international matches.

Three national coaches, one present and two previous, generously offered Ravichandran Ashwin legitimacy for his exceptional potential on the same evening, practically at the same time, and on the same stage.

“Hopefully, he’s not done yet. He has advanced the art of spin bowling with his diligence, commitment, and creativity. It’s an amazing legacy to have. Wonderful! During a felicitation event hosted by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) to honor Ashwin’s 500-wicket milestone and completion of 100 Tests, Dravid remarked, “Well done and inspired a whole generation of young spinners.”

In his distinctive baritone, Dravid’s predecessor Shastri pleaded with Ashwin to keep tricking batters for a few more years. Accomplishments of enormous magnitude. This is no jest. Best wishes to you. You have a lot of cricket left, I think. With every age that passes, spinners become older. Feel really pleased. Congratulations, have fun, and continue tormenting batters for a few more years, Shastri remarked.
