The fastest lady in India predicts that one day same-sex marriage would be common ,Dutee Chand

Dutee Chand, the fastest woman in India, is hopeful that one day same-sex unions would be accepted.

Chand made the statement in response to the Supreme Court’s decision on the legitimacy of same-sex marriage.

The Supreme Court’s Constitution Bench, which consists of five judges, unanimously declined on Tuesday to uphold the Special Marriage Act’s legal recognition of same-sex unions, concluding that Parliament has the authority to amend the legislation to recognize such unions.

“The Supreme Court has not made it illegal for same-sex couples to remain together. The SC did not get involved since the nation lacks such law for same-sex marriage, she said.

“We are optimistic that the central government and Parliament will certainly consider the case and make a proper legislation for the marriage between same-sex persons in the future,” Chand added.

The couple, who have been together for five years, according to Dutee, have chosen to remain together and get married because they love one another.

According to her, the marriage of people of the same sex shouldn’t be judged by factors such as urban-rural, upper-lower, caste, creed, or religion.

“It is a human problem, and everyone should have fair rights in life,” she remarked.

Was there a provision for widow marriage in India? Dutee asked in reference to her excitement for the legal status of same-sex marriage. One day, the government would permit same-sex unions, she said.

The Supreme Court’s order on same-sex marriage should be seen favorably, according to Meera Parida, a transgender activist connected to the governing BJD. The court sees no issues with transgender couples remaining together. Although it is not a basic right, I believe that marriage is more than that. In the largest democracy in the world, like India, LGBTQ people should be allowed to marry.

She clarified that one cannot get insurance and pension benefits even after living together for a long time. She emphasized that the civic society should take these problems into account.

She questioned, “What is wrong if two adults remain partners for life?”

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, pansexual, two-spirit, asexual, and ally individuals are collectively referred to as LGBTQIA+.
