In 2023, 48 core visitors—including 16L international visitors—visited UP

Lucknow: According to statistics published here on Friday by the state tourism department, an estimated 48 crore people visited Uttar Pradesh’s tourist attractions in 2023.

Information revealed that more than 16 lakh of the visitors who visited the state overall were from outside. 32 crore tourists visited the country in total in 2022. According to a representative for the state, “this surge is noticed because the state is famous worldwide for its rich historical, religious, and cultural heritage and continues to attract tourists with its diverse cultural offerings and improved tourism ecosystem.”
12.92 crore visitors were welcomed by the Varanasi area, according to a breakdown by region. tnn
