Nitish Kumar assigns portfolios while keeping the departments of Home and General Administration

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar assigned responsibilities to NDA government members on Saturday, one day after growing his cabinet.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has been assigned responsibility for the Finance and Commercial sectors, while Kumar has been granted the Home and General Administration departments.

The ministries of road construction, mines and geology, and art and culture have been assigned to another BJP deputy chief minister, Vijay Sinha, according to a notice released on Saturday by the Cabinet Secretariat department.

On Friday, Nitish Kumar added 21 additional members to his cabinet, which was formed less than two months ago.

The Nitish Kumar cabinet now has thirty ministers, six short of the state’s constitutional maximum of thirty-six, after the appointment of twenty-one more.
