The government of Uttar Pradesh plans to turn Bundelkhand into a major hub for the production of bulk drugs

Under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government plans to turn Bundelkhand into a significant hub for the manufacture of bulk drugs.

The state government in Bundelkhand has set aside land for a dry port in the area in addition to creating the Bulk Drug Park in Lalitpur. The 60-acre parcel for a dry port will be added to the cargo airport, which is located 45 kilometers from the Bulk Drug Park in Lalitpur.

These establishments will provide customs clearance services for medications produced in the park and sent out of it. In addition, there are plans to build an inland container depot (ICD) next to the park.

Officials from the Industrial Development Department reportedly said that an Inland Container Depot (ICD) office with a customs facility, shipping lines offering agency services, and agent lodgings would be located at the dry port. Additionally, it will have walkways, warehouses for extended import and export operations, and a container stacking space that complies with heavy equipment regulations.

In addition, the port will include automated weighbridges, plenty of parking for arriving cars, facilities for loading and unloading containers, and cutting-edge handling equipment. The choice to create a bulk drug park at Lalitpur, Bundelkhand, is very important since it is the only place in the state that satisfies all the requirements. Specialized infrastructure is required for such a park, such as a dependable power source, robust connection, water access, and digital fiber networking.

Lalitpur reportedly satisfies each of these requirements. The Bulk Drug Park was once estimated to need 25 MLD (million liters per day) of water, of which 15 MLD would come from uncontaminated freshwater and the remaining 10 MLD would be utilized in the facility and then recycled. The check dam on the Jamni River, which is just outside the Bulk Drug Park, would provide the park’s water supply. Furthermore, Lalitpur has several large reservoirs that can efficiently handle any problems related to water shortage all year round. In addition, it is projected that the park would need around 200 MW of electricity.

In order to comply with these specifications, the reports also state that a dual-feed 220 KV substation would be built within the park.

The park also already enjoys the advantages of being adjacent to many power plants, such as a 1980 MW thermal power plant and a 600 MW ultra-mega solar park, both of which will provide energy for the park.

Moreover, the accessibility of the park is significantly dependent on road connections. The longest national highway in the nation, National Highway-44, which connects 13 states from Srinagar to Kanyakumari, is ideally situated about 25 km away from it. The import and export of pharmaceutical items are greatly streamlined by this advantageous location.
