You never expect to pass out on your wedding day, but for bride Catherine Franks, it happened in a peculiar way. Shortly after her husband and she exchanged vows, Catherine fainted in a now-viral TikTok video. As 28-year-old Catherine Franks and her fiancé Alex Franks were getting married in a Louisiana church in the United States, the unexpected happened. The priest even seemed worried when she abruptly passed out in front of hundreds of guests.

Just after the couple exchanged vows with success, the wedding ceremony abruptly stopped. An hour before, Catherine had hopped aboard a vintage school bus, beaming with enthusiasm as she told her bridesmaids she couldn’t wait to be formally introduced as “Franks.” Nevertheless, all she recalls is waking up flat on her back at the altar, surrounded by her friends and family, rather than savoring the moment of becoming a bride.

Speech therapist Catherine unexpectedly lost her footing during the ceremony, which prompted her anxious boyfriend, Alex, to rush to her rescue as soon as they were pronounced husband and wife. The bridesmaids and groom can be seen trying to help Catherine as she repeatedly collapses to the ground in the wedding footage. She lay on the altar floor, and cameras caught the scene as everyone around her tried to calm her down.

Catherine reflected on the event and said, “We arrived for the wedding ceremony, and I began feeling a little dizzy as we stood at the altar with everyone watching. We had, I believe, just exchanged vows and were awaiting the last prayer, at which point we were legally wed. After nearly forty minutes, we had been standing there.

She went on, “My husband kept staring at me, knowing something was wrong, and I said, ‘I think I’m going to pass out.'” I began experiencing dizziness and tunnel vision. When I woke up the next morning, my dad and spouse were wearing cowboy boots, so all I could see were boots.

Mrs. Franks, who got engaged in August 2022 after meeting her spouse on the dating app Hinge, spoke about how her husband’s encouragement allowed her to gather herself after the event. “My spouse was really concerned for my well-being. Sayings like “Get her some water” and “Is she okay?” were heard. He assured her, “It’s okay, you’ll be fine.” I’m a somewhat clumsy person, so I’m used to encountering situations like that.
