‘Bloody Daddy’ by Shahid Kapoor and Ali Abbas Zafar, the film’s OTT release, and More by Ronit Bose Roy

Recently, the ‘Bloody Daddy’ trailer by Ali Abbas Zafar was made public. Ronit Roy plays a dangerous drug boss in the Shahid Kapoor-starring movie. Before the action thriller premieres on JioCinema on June 9th, Ronit Roy spoke with Gurpreet Kaur of Outlook India about what inspired him to embark on the project and his thoughts on the movie’s OTT distribution. edited snippets from a conversation

Tell us, first and foremost, the primary reason you chose to join “Bloody Daddy”?

‘Bloody Daddy’ caught my attention mostly due to the excellent writing. The second reason was that Ali Abbas Zafar, who I believe to be a fantastic filmmaker and a fantastic human being, was directing the movie. I like that guy, and I believe Ali has a talent for constructing a really lovely, strange universe in his films, and he expertly situates his characters there. Ali Abbas Zafar was the main inspiration for “Bloody Daddy,” thus. My co-stars, Shahid Kapoor, Rajeev Khandelwal, Sanjay Kapoor, and Diana Penty, are all amazing. It was fantastic with all weapons firing.

According to the trailer, the movie really reminds me of John Wick. What distinguishes this thriller from other thrillers in your opinion?

It is true that the movie is a remake of the 2011 French picture “Sleepless Night,” and it’s wonderful that the teaser has made people think of John Wick. However, I can guarantee you that “Bloody Daddy” is not John Wick, and the public will learn that this universe is quite different once it airs.

Although the movie is being released on OTT, its scope and actors are obviously substantial. Do you believe that the way films are seen differently depending on the media makes a difference?

Therefore, “Bloody Daddy” seems to be a very large action movie intended for OTT and released for JioCinema. The creators are continuing to follow the original strategy, which was that. A theatrical release was sometimes mentioned, but it was never intended to happen. It was going to be a massive OTT movie. Regarding how films are received across various platforms, I believe that right now, in addition to modest, content-driven films also succeeding on the big screen, we are experiencing a massive spectacle of cinema performing effectively in theatres. The only difference in the watching experience for OTT is the same.

According to Ali Abbas Zafar, Bloody Daddy was created in such a manner that it may be expanded upon, and he is eager to construct something akin to the universe. What do you think about it?

I’m not aware of the filmmakers’ plans on whether or if there will be a “Bloody Daddy 2.” I am unable to comment at this time.

According to rumours, you’ll appear in the next film “Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo.” Can you provide us any updates?

‘Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo’ is a middle-aged love tale that I am presently filming. It is a way to bring back the allure of the ancient world since it is set in a world from the past. It’s a love tale, and I’m glad to see how well it’s progressing.

What additional initiatives are you considering?

I’ve wrapped up filming for Ali Abbas Zafar’s “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.” Then there is a movie for Alvira-Atul Agnihotri, about which I can’t yet provide any information. After that, I have a few months of international travel planned, and then I have to shoot a criminal thriller movie that is now casting. Additionally, I have a couple online shows scheduled for the end of the year.
