Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’ To Air On TV Again In The Wake Of The ‘Adipurush’ Scandal

Ramanand Sagar’s television programme Ramayan is about to resume airing on television in the midst of the controversy surrounding Om Raut’s Ramayan-based Adipurush, which has drawn a lot of criticism. Shemaroo TV posted a brief excerpt from one of the episodes along with an announcement about the replay on its social media accounts.

Shemaroo TV will begin showing Ramayan on July 3.

The movie Adipurush, which debuted on June 16, garnered a lot of negative feedback from the public. The film, which stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, has been criticised for its veracity and accurate depiction of events. Adipurush was also referred to as a “Hollywood ki cartoon” by Arun Govil, who portrayed Lord Ram in Ramayan.

In the Ramayan, Sunil Lahiri portrayed Lakshman, while Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhlia respectively played Ram and Sita. The Instagram account for Shemaroo TV posted a clip from the TV programme along with the message, “World renowned mythological series Ramayan is back for all the fans and our viewers. Watch it beginning July 3 at 7.30 p.m. on your preferred Shemaroo TV channel.

The mythical action movie Adipurush is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. Om Raut wrote and directed the movie, which was produced by T-Series and Retrophiles. The movie, starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, Sunny Singh, and Devdatta Nage, was concurrently shot in Hindi and Telugu. The movie has a massive budget of Rs 500 crore, making it one of the priciest ones ever made in India.
