PM Modi said the coming together of more than 180 nations in response to India’s request is historic

On the occasion of the 9th International Yoga Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted his fellow citizens well on Wednesday morning and referred to the gathering of more than 180 nations at India’s invitation as “historic.”

The Prime Minister is now in New York on a state visit to the UN, where he will take part in a yoga class offered at the UN’s main office. “I shall take part in the yoga programme that is being held at the United Nations headquarters at approximately 5:30 pm IST. It is unprecedented that more than 180 nations have responded to India’s request. A record number of nations approved the idea for Yoga Day when it was presented to the UN General Assembly in 2014, according to PM Modi in a video address on Wednesday.

The ‘Ocean Ring of Yoga’ has enhanced the specialness of this year’s Yoga Day celebrations, according to PM Modi. The link between the concept of yoga and the size of the ocean serves as the foundation for this concept.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi first mentioned International Yoga Day in his 2014 speech to the United Nations General Assembly. Due to its capacity to improve flexibility, strength, balance, and general fitness, yoga has since seen tremendous growth in popularity on a global scale.

Yoga For Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, or yoga for the benefit of everyone in the form of “One World-One Family,” is this year’s theme for Yoga Day.It highlights the uplifting and inclusive nature of the yoga philosophy. Programmes connected to yoga will once again be held nationwide, as they are every time.

It acts as a platform to promote yoga’s comprehensive approach to physical, mental, and spiritual well-being and to spread knowledge of the many advantages of the practise. Yoga is good for general well-being as well as difficulties with mental health. Regular yoga practise lowers stress and relieves depression and anxiety symptoms. Yoga has shown significant effectiveness in easing the symptoms of anxiety and despair since the epidemic.
It emphasises the relationship between the mind and body and aids in emotional control, mood enhancement, and mental clarity. On June 21, PM Modi will commemorate the International Day of Yoga at the UN headquarters with the UN hierarchy and representatives of the global community.

Additionally, preparations have been undertaken around the nation to commemorate the anniversary and raise awareness of the advantages of traditional Indian practise. Since the UN declared June 21 to be the International Day of Yoga in 2014, it has been nine years.
