Due to heat, the Chhattisgarh government extends the summer break for students till June 26

In light of the oppressive heat, the Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday decided to prolong the summer break for students till June 26. The return to classes day was set for June 16.

In light of the high temperatures and the heat wave, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reportedly ordered the appropriate authorities to extend the summer vacation. In this respect, the school education department would issue a directive, he said.

A heat wave was expected to develop in isolated areas of central Chhattisgarh during the course of the next four days, according to the Met department in Raipur on Tuesday. Additionally, it had predicted isolated areas of the state will see thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds of 30 to 40 kph during the course of the next four days.
