Forward bloc and AIADMK combine for the Lok Sabha election

For the next Lok Sabha election, the AIADMK has partnered with the All India Forward Bloc (AIFB), one of the DMK’s partners in the 2021 Assembly elections. In addition, the actor Sarathkumar-led All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) said on Wednesday that it will be collaborating with the BJP.

The AIFB state committee, however, said that despite their support for the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, the party is still a member of the INDIA alliance on a national scale. They have asked to be given the Theni or Ramanathapuram seat by AIADMK.

At this home, party delegates headed by state general secretary PV Kathiresan met general secretary of the AIADMK Edappadi K Palaniswami. Kathiresan gave TNIE an explanation of the reasoning for the decision, saying, “The state committee has been given the authority to decide on the alliance in Tamil Nadu by the national leadership of AIFB.” The committee has decided to go with the AIADMK-led coalition instead of the BJP.

Former MLA Kathiravan said, “AIADMK still extended an invitation for alliance talks, while DMK did not afford us the same level of respect, despite our previous involvement with the DMK.”

Actor Sarathkumar, the president of AISMK, said that the party has chosen to support the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections after holding two rounds of discussions with BJP officials, including Union Minister L Murugan.

When the list of state BJP candidates is finalized, Annamalai and her team go to Delhi.

Chennai: To choose BJP candidates from Tamil Nadu for the Legislative Assembly elections, a group of top BJP state unit officials, including the party’s state president K Annamalai, hurried to New Delhi on Tuesday. Annamalai said, “We will convey the views of the state office-bearers to the national leaders,” during a news conference held here. The candidates will be chosen by the local election committee. In response to a query, Annamalai said, “There are sixty-three candidates seeking to represent one seat. Kancheepuram has forty-three. Central Chennai is home to 34 of them. There’s a lot of excitement among the BJP cadre. The preference has been given to female applicants.
