Himachal Receiving Heavy Rains; Yellow Lightning and Thunderstorm Warning

Numerous locations in Himachal Pradesh had widespread moderate to heavy rains, with Palampur recording the wettest conditions with 57 mm of precipitation, according to the local meteorological station on Monday.

Dharamshala had 43 mm of rainfall, followed by Dhaulakuan 41 mm, Kheri 39 mm, Nagrota Surian 34 mm, Bilaspur and Kumarsain 23 mm, Nahan 22.8 mm, Karsog 16 mm, Aghar 14 mm, Mehre 13 mm, Baijnath 12 mm, Narkanda 11.5 mm, Bijahi and Janjehli 10 mm.

A yellow warning has been issued by the local meteorological station for isolated thunderstorms and lightning on June 20 and 21 as well as isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds of up to 30 to 40 kmph on June 22 and 23.

Yellow is the weather warning that is deemed to be the least hazardous by the MeT department. It suggests that there might be dangerous weather in the coming days. Over the following four days, the weather station also foresaw mild to moderate rainfall in a few locations.

Una had the highest temperature with a high of 39.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Dhaulakuan with a high of 38.4 degrees C, Hamirpur with a high of 36.7 degrees C, Berthin with a high of 36.4 degrees C, Kangra with a high of 35.8 degrees C, Sundernagar with a high of 35.7 degrees C, and Mandi with a high of 35.6 degrees C.

The lowest temperature was recorded at Paonta Sahib at 27 degrees Celsius. This was followed by Dehra Gopipur at 24 degrees C and Una at 23.4 degrees C. Dalhousie had the lowest temperature in the state at 10.6 degrees Celsius.
