IAF’s involvement in hostilities with Pakistan is praised by President Murmu

On Saturday, President Droupadi Murmu emphasised the crucial role that the gallant soldiers of the Indian Air Force (IAF) played in protecting their nation throughout the wars with “the hostile neighbour” (Pakistan) in 1948, 1965, and 1971, stating that their names were inscribed in gold letters in the history of the nation.

Both during the Kargil battle and subsequently, when they destroyed the terrorist hideaway at Balakot, they shown the same tenacity and abilities. Consequently, the IAF has a renowned reputation for professionalism, commitment, and selflessness.

She informed the cadets that their job was demanding, fulfilling, and very honourable as she reviewed the combined graduation parade at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal in Hyderabad. They are required to continue the outstanding legacy of the IAF’s previous members. She said that the IAF’s slogan, “Touch the Sky with Glory,” or “Nabhah sprisham Deeptam,” is very motivating. She expressed faith in the cadets’ ability to embody the spirit of this phrase and live up to the demands placed on them by the country.

According to the president, the IAF also helped with disaster relief and humanitarian aid. Despite unfavourable weather, the IAF recently acted to give medical assistance and disaster relief following the recent earthquake in Syria and Turkey. She continued by pointing out the earlier successful evacuation mission to airlift more than 600 Indians and other nations trapped in Kabul, which required flying and landing in a hazardous situation.

According to President Murmu, having the capacity to absorb technology quickly would be crucial for having a ready air, sea, and land defence. She said that an integrated view on defence readiness must be kept in mind by each and every officer of the armed services.

She was pleased to see that the IAF was taking measures to be always prepared, particularly in light of the difficulties of waging a high-tech war in a future warfare environment that was network-centric.
