Increased security ahead of Ramadan and the general election

In light of Ramadan and the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the government has stepped up security with the goal of boosting confidence among citizens and demoralizing antisocial groups.

In addition to stepping up nighttime dominance monitoring, the police are conducting special nakas, flag marches, and search and combing operations in a number of the area’s locations that come under the districts of Ludhiana and Malerkotla.

Vigilant supervision has been necessary to avoid any unfortunate occurrence as a result of the region’s extravagant Iftar celebrations and religious ceremonies being held in public spaces.

Vigilance has reportedly increased near educational institutions, major marketplaces, bus hubs, train stations, and places of worship, according to the police.

SSPs Simrat Kaur, Navneet Singh Bains, and Amneet Kondal oversaw the security measures in areas under their respective purview in the police districts of Khanna, Malerkotla, and Ludhiana (Rural).

In addition to eliminating narcotics and other social ills during Ramadan and the subsequent Lok Sabha elections for the parliamentary seats of Fatehgarh Sahib and Sangrur, Malerkotla SSP Simrat Kaur said that the police were dedicated to maintaining calm in the area. “In addition to combing operations in designated localities, we have prepared a special roster to enhance patrolling and organise special nakas at all strategic points,” Kaur said.

Teams that are dedicated to keeping an eye on foreigners who are staying at hotels, inns, and places of worship have been formed.

DSPs in different circles Gurdev Singh, Ranjit Singh Bains, Karamjit Singh, and Rachhpal Singh Dhindsa oversaw police forces conducting combing operations in their respective areas.
