Leaders of the DMK advocate for the INDIA bloc

To prevent the Bharatiya Janata Party from dividing people along religious lines, minority votes in the Lok Sabha elections should go to the opposition INDIA bloc parties and Dravidian Munnetra Kazhagam, according to Dravidian leaders who on Sunday fanned out across Tamil Nadu to address public meetings, setting the tone for the election season.

With the exception of the three seats in Chennai and the one seat in Puducherry, the 37 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu are hosting the “Urimaigalai Meetka Stalinin Kural (Stalin’s voice to retrieve rights)” campaign series.

On language and centralization, Lok Sabha MP K Kanimozhi took aim at the Union administration, which is governed by the BJP. Under her half-brother and chief minister, M K Stalin, Tamil Nadu is a leading state in areas like health and education, she remarked. In the Virudhunagar district, Kanimozhi said, “We have achieved this despite not receiving our due funds from the Center.”

Speaking in the Erode district, Minister of Municipal Administration K N Nehru said that the state was prevented from carrying out development projects by the cap on borrowing limits established by the central government. Nehru said, “Only we know how much the Union government threatens ministers.” “Only the INDIA bloc can bring about change, and we will be a part of it, which will benefit Tamil Nadu greatly.”

When the income-tax agency searched Minister of Public Works E V Velu in November, Nehru made the statement that opposition leaders were being intimidated by federal agents. On Sunday, he said that even if Prime Minister Narendra Modi praises Tamil and mentions Thirukural, the Tamil saint Thiruvalluvar’s couplets, he is only giving lip service since the Central Government has only allotted ₹29 crore for Tamil development.

Sekar Babu, the minister for Hindu religious and philanthropic endowments, said in Chennai that for people to live in harmony, the BJP must lose. “I am certain that the BJP should never win an election again. Babu said, “They are using language and religion to turn people against one another and win votes by doing so. “Therefore, Muslim voters ought to support the DMK-INDIA bloc and not cast their votes elsewhere.”

In contrast to the BJP, Stalin, who is also the head of the DMK, said a day ago that his administration has maintained peaceful coexistence for all segments of society. Stalin has not participate in the three-day campaign.

As part of the “DMK-files part 3,” BJP president for Tamil Nadu K Annamalai released another old audio clip on Saturday, accusing the Dravidian party of corruption. The tape was a 2006–2011 discussion between former Union telecom minister A Raja and state intelligence chief Jaffer Sait about the 2G telecom fraud case, which took place under the United Progressive Alliance administration.
