PM Modi concludes his state visit to the US with a speech to the diaspora before leaving for an official visit to Egypt

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian diaspora in Washington, DC, to conclude his official visit to the United States.

Speaking to a sizable crowd of Indian-Americans, Modi said that the US-India relationship has embarked on a new path and has yet to reach its full potential.

Modi’s visits throughout the years have emphasised engagement with the diaspora. Whether it was the event with the 20,000-strong gathering at Madison Square Garden in New York in 2014 or the joint-rally with the then-President Donald Trump in Texas in 2019 at a 50,000-strong gathering, one of the largest ever receptions for a foreign leader in the United States, some of the most memorable moments in the country have come from his addresses to the diaspora.

Modi left after the diaspora ceremony to go on a two-day trip to Egypt. Modi’s first state visit to the US lasted three days and included events and activities that showcased the complexities of the extensive India-US relationship as well as India’s increasing importance. A state visit is a highly sought-after distinction that is reserved for the closest friends and partners.

India-US ties are primarily about improving the globe, according to Modi
According to Modi, the goal of India-US relations is to improve the globe in the twenty-first century.

According to Modi, agreements on technology transfer, increased manufacturing, and strengthened industrial supply chains would support efforts to “make in India and make for the world” as a result of the two nations’ convergence on international problems and their developing links.

At the community speech, Modi said that both nations are making significant progress towards a brighter future.

When Modi said that Americans of Indian descent wouldn’t need to leave the country to renew their H-1B visas, both those in the audience and those outside the building applauded him wildly.

According to him, New India is performing to the best of its ability because it is clear about its path, choices, and commitment.

The world is seeing the closer connections between these two powerful democracies because, as the prime minister said, India is the mother of democracy and the US is the champion of contemporary democracy.

Modi travels to Egypt on a state visit.
PM Modi concluded his state visit to the United States on Saturday by departing for Egypt after three days of political and economic engagements in the country that highlighted technical collaboration and people-to-people links between the two nations.

Modi met with influential people and business people during his visit, spoke with President Biden, attended the state dinner that Biden and First Lady Jill Biden hosted in his honour, attended a luncheon that Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken hosted, and spoke at a diaspora event. Additionally, Modi spoke before a joint meeting of the US Congress.

Modi has left for Egypt, where he will be making his first trip. It arrives at President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s invitation. The Indian prime minister is making his first bilateral trip since 1997.
