PM Modi will conduct election campaigns in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra today for the Lok Sabha elections of 2024

Delhi, New: Star candidates from all political parties are actively campaigning in key seats as the Lok Sabha elections get near. Additionally, the BJP has stepped up its political campaign and rallies. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to go to Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra to speak at many public gatherings. Interestingly, he is conducting his polling campaign in these states 10 days before the first round of the federal elections.

The prime minister is scheduled to campaign in Vellore today after holding a sizable road show in Chennai on Tuesday.

POM Modi is expected to speak at a public gathering in Vellore in favor of two candidates running for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA): Soumya Anbumani, a candidate from Pattali Makkal Kachi, and AC Shanmugam, a candidate from the New Justice Party, who is running in Vellore on the BJP ticket.

With 38 of the 39 seats, the DMK-led coalition won a landslide victory in the 2019 Tamil Nadu Lok Sabha elections.

The Congress, which is running for nine seats; the CPI(M) and the CPI, which are running for two seats each; the Indian Muslim League, which has put up a single candidate; the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, which is running for two seats; the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, which is running for one seat; and the Kongunadu Makkal Desia Katchi (KMDK), whose candidate will run under the DMK symbol, will lead the eight-party alliance.

Leading an alliance of four parties in the Lok Sabha, the AIADMK is expected to run for 34 seats, while its allies, the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Puthiya Tamilagam, and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam, would run for five seats apiece. The latter two parties, however, would disagree with the surveys over the AIADMK insignia.

Along with nine other partners, the BJP is contesting 23 seats. These partners include the Pattali Makkal Katchi, which is running for 10 seats; the Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar), which is running for 3 seats; O Pannerselvam, a former chief minister of Tamil Nadu and leader of the AIADMK, who is running as an independent; Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMU), led by TTV Dhinakaran, which is running for two seats; and the Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi, Puthiya Needhi Katchi, and Tamizhaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, which are running for one seat each. Under the BJP’s umbrella, the last three parties are running for office.

Following his rally in Vellore, PM Modi will go to the Ramtek seat in Maharashtra to lend his support to Raju Parwe, a member of the Shiv Sena (the Eknath Shinde faction).

After Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra is the second-largest state, with 48 seats in the Lok Sabha. The united forces of the BJP and the unbroken Shiv Sena declared victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, securing 23 of the 25 seats they were vying for. Future plans provide for the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra to be decided by five rounds of voting on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20.
