Poor, Marginalized People Feel The Impact Of Corruption The Most, Says PM Modi

The poor and the marginalized experience the effects of corruption most acutely, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.

He said that corruption had an impact on how resources are allocated, markets, and people’s quality of life.

Addressing the G-20 ministerial conference on anti-corruption in Kolkata, the prime minister said that “India has a strict policy of zero tolerance against corruption.”

Rabindranath Tagore, a Nobel winner, has warned against greed, saying that it inhibits us from seeing the truth.

We are actively pursuing economic violators, Modi remarked. We passed the Economic Offender Act, and since then, we have found fugitives and economic criminals’ assets worth over 1.8 billion dollars.

At the G-20, Modi said that the battle against corruption may be considerably aided by our combined efforts.

“I offered a 9-point agenda for action against fugitive economic criminals for asset recovery at the G-20 conference in 2018. I am delighted to see that your organization is acting with resolve,” the prime minister stated.

In the battle against corruption, according to Modi, audit institutions must be taken into consideration.

According to the PM, 360 billion dollars have been distributed to individuals in India via direct payments and welfare system leaks have been closed.
