The YSRCP government deceived citizens by placing stickers on central schemes: BJP

Vijayawada: According to Lanka Dinakar, the top official spokesman for the BJP in Andhra Pradesh, ineffective financial management is to blame for the sharp rise in state government debts over the last five years. He said that the AP has taken out loans of Rs 10.45 lakh crore during the previous five years, from 2019 to 2024, placing a heavy burden on the state’s citizens.

The TDP leader, Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao and a BJP official spokesman addressed the media at the party’s state headquarters. They said that the Andhra Pradesh government had misled the public by using stickers from the central government to represent their own programs, which they alleged were executed by the state government.

Dinakar said that the government of Andhra Pradesh has spent a pitiful Rs 16,000 crore on capital projects during the last five years. He said that the state government had only made little irrigation project expenditures of Rs 26,000 crore. Irrigation project maintenance has been ignored by the state administration, and no new projects were initiated.

According to Dinakar, Andhra Pradesh has fallen behind other states in drawing in foreign investment. In 2018–19, the state ranked fifth in the nation for drawing in foreign investment; however, after the YSRCP took power, AP has fallen to 14th place nationally in this regard.

He stated that during the previous five years, AP’s income was Rs 6.55 lakh crore, while grants and funding from the central government were Rs 5.50 lakh crore.

According to the BJP spokesman, Andhra Pradesh has struggled with financial management over the last five years, and the state is now burdened by mounting debt.

In the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, he has urged the people of Andhra Pradesh to support the TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena coalition, known as the NDA alliance. He pointed out that the YSRCP election plan was primarily focused on income and did not explain how the government would raise money.

Dinakar said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had misused Andhra Pradesh’s resources and provided the least amount of assistance to the state’s residents in the previous five years. He called on voters to oppose the YSRCP in the next elections, pointing out that the party’s program included no mention of how the state’s infrastructure will be developed by the government.
