Two Una boys will enlist in the military

Two young people from the Una area have been chosen to attend various Indian Armed Forces institutions to train as officers.

Yatin Kanwar (19), a resident of Ward 9 (Una), has been chosen for the Army’s Technical Entry Scheme, earning an eleventh rank overall in India. On Thursday, the scheme’s outcomes were announced.

Yatin Kanwar After completing his schooling at Una, Yatin attended NIT, Hamirpur, to pursue a BTech in electronics and telecommunication. He said that joining the armed forces was his first preference and that he had been taking the NDA written test, which he had already passed four times.

He then showed up for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews, which he very barely missed. He just applied for the Technical Entry Scheme SSB in Jalandhar, where he advanced to the final merit. Yatin, a journalist from Una, attributed his motivation to his late grandpa, Kanwar Hari Singh, the head of the nonprofit Himptkarsh Parishad.

Shamsher Singh (19), a native of Basdehra village, passed the NDA exam and placed 238th. He was a student at Sainik School Sujanpur, Tihra, and he just passed the SSB in Prayagraj.

Shamsher is now enrolled in the second year of the BSc program at Chandigarh’s Government Post-Graduate College. Shamsher, a BSF ASI’s son, has passed the NDA written test five times. But he had not been successful in passing the SSB before.
