After Pakistan’s record-breaking victory against Sri Lanka, Babar Azam made a wonderful gift for the grounds crew at Hyderabad Stadium

Pakistan won the 2023 World Cup for the second time in a row after completing an incredible run chase against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad. The 1992 World Cup winners showed their strength in the face of a challenging 345-run goal, finally winning by six wickets in 48.2 overs. Abdullah Shafique made a huge contribution with a well constructed 113, while Mohammad Rizwan played a crucial part with an undefeated century of 131.

In addition to securing the victory, their amazing performance broke Ireland’s 2011 record for the most successful run chase as they chased down 329 against England to create a new World Cup record.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, saved a kind gesture for the groundskeepers at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium after their victory against Sri Lanka. In order to show his thanks for the ground staff’s hard work and commitment, Babar gave the head of the team a Pakistan jersey and took pictures with each member. The footage of Babar presenting the jersey to the head of ground crew was also posted on the ICC’s official Instagram account.

Earlier, Pakistan’s legendary wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammed Rizwan congratulated the local curator and promised to “pray” for him in return for creating a beautiful ball that enabled Rizwan to hit a century.

“Rizwan, you must hit two 100s on this ground,” the curator remarked as we arrived at the playing area for the first time. Today, he and I also met. As the Pakistani team concluded its two-week leg in Hyderabad on a strong note, Rizwan stated at the post-match news conference, “We can pray for him, and you can pray for him too.

In reality, Rizwan felt as if he was playing in Rawalpindi because to the love and support Pakistan got in Nizam’s home country.
“I thought I was taking part in a game in Pindi. The Pakistani squad as a whole received appreciation from the audience on Tuesday, not just myself. In actuality, they also backed Sri Lanka. I’m glad Hyderabad’s audience has backed cricket from both Sri Lanka and us. I had a great time with them.
