In a moving homage, Dhruv Jurel calls parents “real MVPs” for their child’s achievement on the test

NEW DELHI: Indian wicketkeeper-battler Dhruv Jurel used social media to thank his parents from the bottom of his heart, crediting their constant encouragement and support for his victory in the Test match.

Jurel called his parents the “real MVPs” of his life, sharing a heartfelt photo of them with the “Player of the Match” trophy during the fourth Test match against England at Ranchi.

Jurel published a heartwarming photo of himself and his parents on Instagram with the remark, “real MVPs of my life,” highlighting the importance of his parents to his cricket career.

In the third Test at Rajkot, Jurel made his Test debut. He showed off his batting skills with a vital 46-run innings that helped India win handily by 434 runs.
But Jurel really showed his best in the fourth Test. His crucial 90-run first-inning performance and his strong combination with Kuldeep Yadav were key factors in reducing England’s advantage to just 46 runs.
In addition, he shared the famous ‘Player of the Match’ award in only his second Test match, as he and Shubman Gill combined to lead India to a thrilling 192-run win in the second innings.
Jurel’s outspoken gratitude for his parents’ support and sacrifices has matched his on-field accomplishments.

When Jurel was called up for the first time for the Test series against England earlier in January, he turned to Twitter to thank his parents for everything that they had done for him and to acknowledge their influence on his cricket career.
“This is just the beginning, I swear. Mother, father, and child are all gone. Aur abhi bohot naam kamaana hai!” Jurel said previously in a poignant tweet, emphasizing the significant influence of his parents’ encouragement on his desire to play cricket.
With the fifth and final Test about to take place in Dharamshala on March 7, Jurel is resolute in his goal to keep his parents proud of him while he plays cricket.
