Looking forward to playing in his “favorite Masters” at Indian Wells, Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic, who has not played in the Indian Wells event for five years, has expressed his desire to do well there.

Away from the competition since 2019, Djokovic has been because to Covid-19 travel limitations. The epidemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 competition, and the Serbian star would miss the following three as the US would not let foreigners without vaccinations into the nation.

Djokovic said in a video, cited by Reuters, that Indian Wells is most likely his favorite Masters event.

In a video broadcast from the sleepy little town in the Southern California desert, Djokovic said, “It has been five years, way too long to not be part of the Tennis Paradise tournament, one of the best tournaments in the world without a doubt.”

“It’s perhaps the Masters event that many players, including myself, enjoy the most. I am really excited to return and play for some of the greatest tennis fans on the circuit.”

Greatly anticipating returning: About Indian Wells, Djokovic

When Djokovic won the Indian Wells Open for the first time in 2008, he cited it as one of his best career victories. The Serbian player expressed gratitude for having faced Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in some fantastic matches and said he felt lucky to have won the tournament four more times in his career.

“It was one of the best titles of my career at the time I won the championship in Indian Wells for the first time. He recalled playing Mardy Fish in the championship game.

“I was lucky enough to win the competition four more times, and I had some incredible final matches against some of the greatest players of that period, including Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. “I’m very excited to return,” Djokovic said.

The dates of the Indian Wells competition are planned for March 3–17. Rafael Nadal is anticipated to compete this time after missing the Australian Open earlier in the year.
