Akhilesh Yadav fires out a new volley at the Congress as the Madhya Pradesh standoff deepens

Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, lashed out at the Congress for wanting to conduct a statewide caste-based census, calling it a “miracle” that the grand old party backed such a project. He was upset by the refusal of an alliance in Madhya Pradesh. Because “you won’t succeed” without the backing of lower castes, he said, his INDIA alliance partner backed the need for a caste census.

“It’s the same Congress party that withheld the caste census figures. It is a “miracle” because today everyone is aware that you cannot achieve unless you have the backing of the lower castes, according to ANI. He stated this in Bhadohi.

He said that the votes they were looking for were not in their favor.

“It’s amazing that the Congress party is now calling for a caste census. The vote they were looking for is no longer with them, and the Congress is now aware of this,” he said.

A few days before, the Congress said that the INDIA coalition, which consists of 28 opposition parties fighting the Bharatiya Janata Party, was intended for national politics rather than local elections. The evaluation was made after the Samajwadi Party objected to the list of 144 candidates provided by the Congress.

Yadav recently said that despite the party’s promises of at least six seats, they received none from the Congress.

Yadav said on Friday that if “this confusion prevails,” the INDIA coalition will never be able to beat the BJP.

The nation has a significant issue in 2024. A sizable party is the BJP. It is a really well-organized group. In order to take it on, there should be no ambiguity among the members of the (INDIA bloc). You won’t be successful if you approach the BJP with misunderstanding, he warned.

Yadav charged the Congress of “betrayal” the previous day.

“They met with our delegation, and the meeting lasted until one in the morning. Our delegation was given the assurance that the SP may potentially get around six seats. I reasoned that we wouldn’t mind if the SP received four, and I felt convinced of this. However, the Congress nominated a candidate for the MP seat that the SP won in 2018 when their list of 144 candidates arrived (on Sunday). Therefore, as a result of pressure, we too went ahead and announced candidates, Akhilesh had stated.

After the MP incident, he claimed to have recognized that the INDIA alliance was just for the general elections. “We will consider it after the national elections are held. Then there is a new forum (for debate) for it for those who want seats,” he said.

Election day in Madhya Pradesh is November 17. Vote tallying will happen on December 3.
