Hapur Police confiscate and destroy 509 2-wheeler modified silencers due to loudness

In Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, 509 modified Royal Enfield bike silencers were seized because they were causing noise pollution in the area.

Operation “Patakha” is the name of the campaign that the Hapur Police ran from January to April. On Saturday, a road roller smashed the silencers of the cars confiscated in the previous four months.

Drivers who fitted modified silencers to their Royal Enfield motorcycles and broke the law by adding to the noise pollution were met with severe consequences from the authorities.

“The Operation ‘Patakha’ campaign was conducted in Hapur from January to April,” said Varun Mishra, Circle Officer. During this effort, the police seized the Royal Enfield vehicles’ silencers, which had been modified and were causing noise pollution. Road rollers have assisted in the destruction of around 509 of these silencers.”
