Nitish Backs Mamata in “Lok Sabha Polls Likely to Be Advanced”

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, backed a similar assertion made by Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, on Tuesday, saying that the Lok Sabha polls are likely to be pushed because the BJP believes that over time it would suffer more losses due to the opposition’s unity.

Banerjee said on Monday that she was concerned that the Lok Sabha elections would take place in December or January of this year.

When questioned about the claim, Kumar responded to reporters by stating, “I have been saying it for the last seven-eight months that the NDA government at the Centre might go for early Lok Sabha polls, fearing more loss to the BJP because of opposition unity.” “As a result, it is imperative that all opposition parties work together to defeat the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. I’ll say it again: I don’t care about myself and have no personal goals. My main objective is to bring together as many opposition groups as possible before the elections, he said.

Kumar, who previously said that other parties are probably joining the opposition alliance INDIA, chose not to provide any further information.

“We have made efforts to bring the opposition parties together. Following the summit in Mumbai on August 31 and September 1, the opposition alliance INDIA would become even stronger, he said.

After officially opening the Nalanda Open University’s new campus, the chief minister was addressing to media.

The cast survey exercise, according to Kumar, has been finished and will be released shortly.

“We’ve finished the drill. The information is currently being gathered, and it will shortly be released. The government would be able to work for the development of different societal segments, especially the underprivileged, with the help of the final statistics. This will enable us to identify the areas that need improvement. I’m confident that other states will follow suit, therefore let the complete statistics be revealed,” he remarked.

The leaders of all major parties, including the BJP, unanimously decided to undertake the caste-based census, according to Kumar.

“At this point, I am not listening to anything they are saying. Why is the Center saying nothing about the census’s delay? The exercise was supposed to be finished in 2021. They (the BJP leaders) need to comment on it,” he added.
