A postmortem study reveals that Mukhtar Ansari, a former mobster who became a politician, passed away from a heart attack

The post-mortem examination of gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari revealed that he passed away due to cardiac arrest, refuting the claims made by his family.

Ansari, a former MLA who had been charged in over 60 instances, passed away on Thursday night after being taken from the district prison to the Rani Durgavati Medical College in Banda. Five physicians on a panel performed the autopsy.
According to Ansari’s family, “slow poisoning” while he was incarcerated caused his death.

“The cause of death of Mukhtar Ansari was found to be a heart attack (myocardial infarction),” said the report. Mukhtar Ansari’s younger son, Umar, was present at the Rani Durgavati Medical College during the post-mortem.

Following the post-mortem, Mukhtar Ansari’s corpse was transported in a lengthy caravan of cars from Banda to his hometown of Ghazipur in the evening, where he was buried on Saturday morning. Elaborate security measures were put in place outside Ansari’s home and the burial site by the local government.
