Boat flips over in the sea off the coast of Mumbai, 2 Fishermen Fear Drowning; Search Operation underway

A fire officer in Mumbai said on Sunday that two fishermen were believed to have perished when their boat capsized in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Versova.

The two people launched the boat into the water for fishing on Saturday between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. from Devachiwadi in the Versova neighborhood, according to him.

The official said that the boat capsized in the waters roughly two to three kilometers from the beach, citing residents and police.

He said that Vijay Bamania, age 35, was one among the individuals who managed to swim to safety.

Usmani Bhandari, 22, and Vinod Goel, 45, the two other people, were reported missing by residents, the official added. He stated that the missing folks were being sought for by the fire department, police, Navy, and lifeguards.
