Delhi schools will reopen today at regular times

As the weather in Delhi has improved, schools have resumed their usual schedules as of today, providing respite to both parents and pupils.

The Directorate of Education ordered that Delhi schools adopt a new timetable beginning in January in response to the cold winter weather. To shield pupils from the cold, classes now start at nine in the morning. Additionally, the DoE ordered schools to stop holding lessons after 5 p.m.

The DoE’s decision said, “All government, government-aided, and recognized private schools in Delhi shall resume their full normal timings with effect from Tuesday, in view of the improved weather conditions in Delhi.”

The instruction emphasized the need of rapid notice, mandating that school administrators swiftly notify staff, parents, and students of the timetable change using efficient means of communication. Prior to this, elementary schools’ winter vacation was prolonged by one week, beginning on January 6 and ending on January 12, owing to the frigid weather.

With a low of 11.9°C on Monday, Delhi had a delightfully lovely day that was 3°C warmer than the seasonal normal. The highest temperature also rose above average, hitting 20.3°C, which was 2°C warmer than predicted.
