Kerala: By 2027, the first phase of the Sabarimala Greenfield Airport will be operational

With a financial catastrophe on the horizon, the LDF administration said that it would let more private parties in to encourage partnerships and investments.

The administration said in the governor’s policy speech that legislation authorizing the establishment of private colleges would shortly be submitted. Additionally, it established a goal of operationalizing the Sabarimala Greenfield Airport’s first phase by 2027.

A framework for private partnerships will be established to support green business and improve waste management capabilities. Soon, there will also be a new wind energy policy that involves private sector involvement.

The policy speech said that the state’s financial situation was made worse by “the discontinuation of GST compensation, a reduction in revenue deficit grant, and restrictions imposed on ‘off-budget’ borrowings of the state by the Union.”

The “Muttathe mulla” initiative, which was created to free rural families from the grasp of private money lenders, was stated to have successfully issued loans totaling Rs 547.16 crore to laborers, small merchants, low-income groups, etc.
