Uttarakhand: PM Modi Performs Puja in Pithoragarh’s Parvati Kund While Surrounded by Snow-capped Hills

At Parvati Kund in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave darshan and did puja. PM Modi started his daylong trip to Uttarakhand, where he was there to lay the cornerstones of many construction projects, with a visit to the Lord Shiva’s residence, Adi Kailash, and a worship at Parvati Kund.

PM Modi attended a ‘aarti’ and blew the conch shell at the Shiva-Parvati temple located along the banks of Parvati Kund in Jolingkong while dressed in a traditional tribal attire complete with a hat and ‘ranga’ (upper body cloth).

Local priests Virendra Kutiyal and Gopal Singh led PM Modi around the shrine. Also at Jolingkong, he momentarily sat in meditation in front of the Adi Kailash mountain with his hands folded.

Prior to his visit, Prime Minister Modi wrote on X that his administration was “dedicated to the welfare of each and every person in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and the state’s speedy growth. I will dedicate and lay the cornerstone for various initiatives in Pithoragarh to increase its pace.

“I will also get the wonderful chance to communicate with the residents of Gunji village. As part of the vacation, I also excitedly anticipate seeing the spiritually important Parvati Kund and attending a puja at Jageshwar Dham, the man said.

As PM Modi travels from the Naini Saini airport to a public meeting location, cultural groups from Uttarakhand’s Kumaon area were prepared to greet him at several locations along a newly rebuilt 6-km route decked with murals and paintings.

After receiving the Adi Kailash peak’s darshan, PM Modi traveled to Gunji hamlet, where he spoke with residents and security officials and saw a display of regional goods and artifacts. Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister, accompanied him. They received a kind, old-fashioned welcome.

On PM Modi’s agenda for Uttarakhand was also a public event at Pithoragarh.
