“Incredibly Grateful to Be Manager of Arsenal,” According to Gunners boss Mikel Arteta

With his play style, tenacity, and dedication throughout the previous season, Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, won over the Gunners’ fans.

The Spaniard was in charge of Arsenal when the London club put up a valiant battle for the Premier League championship before losing steam near the conclusion of the season and giving up their early lead in the competition.

Ultimately, Manchester City won the championship once again, but Arteta was thrilled with how well his team played throughout the season.

Arsenal is looking to bolster their team for the forthcoming season, in which they will attempt to launch yet another championship assault, with the transfer market now open.

Speaking to Spanish outlet Marca, the Arsenal manager explained that one of the reasons he chose to sign two Manchester City players last season—Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko—who proved to be crucial additions—was because of his experience working with players while serving as Pep Guardiola’s assistant.

“What makes us acquire players from Man City? It’s simple because they are excellent, I am familiar with them, and we collaborated for four years,” Arteta said.

He said, “I wanted Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko for their incredible talent as well as their ‘human’ talents.

In the midst of rumors that PSG had made an offer, Arteta said he was immensely appreciative to have the opportunity to serve as the manager of the historically significant London club.

“I can only express my happiness at Arsenal. I sense the owners’ affection and appreciation for me. The 41-year-old stated, “I have a lot of things to accomplish for this club.

“I’m extremely grateful and happy to be the manager of Arsenal,” he said.

Declan Rice of West Ham is Arsenal’s top target as they look to bolster their midfield after the departure of veteran Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka.

Arteta, a 24-year-old English international, opted to keep his cards close to his breast when asked about the agreement for the player.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t comment on players who aren’t affiliated with the team. I’d rather not comment,” he said.

The German midfielder Kai Havertz, whom Arteta is reputed to like, is also close to joining Arsenal, and the Spaniard noted that the expensive price tag attached to the German player is a sign of his skill.

“Havertz? He is a young footballer that is skilled and adaptable. Talent has a cost. He has shown a lot already, including a UCL, in his opinion.

In addition, Arteta said that management and staff were collaborating to add top talent to their ranks within the current opportunity.

“We’ve already updated the squad. We are now working with owners to create a successful club that may be long-lasting, the Spaniard stated.

We need key players, therefore we’ll go after them on the market to sign them, he said.
