Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Vedic Rituals To Begin On January 16; Idol Showing Child Form Of Lord Ram Near Completion

The statue showing Lord Ram in his childlike form is ninety percent complete, according to Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Trust, ahead of the temple’s opening in Ayodhya on January 22.

“A 4’3” idol of Lord Ram as a 5-year-old kid is being built at three different places in Ayodhya at the Ram Janambhoomi shrine. One of the idols that the three craftsmen are creating on the three separate slabs of stone will be acceptable to the Lord. “These idols are ninety percent complete, and the remaining work will require approximately one week to complete,” said Champat Rai.

“The ground level ‘Grabhgriha’ will host the idol’s installation. The temple’s ground level is almost finished. Thus, the “Praan-Pratishtha” (Consecration ritual) won’t present any issues,” he said.

He said, “The ‘Praan-Pratishtha’ ceremony is inviting at least 4000 sadhus.” The roster of additional invitees is also prepared.

On January 22, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present during the opening of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Prime Minister was invited by the office bearers of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Tirtha Kshetra, who went alongside religious leaders.

One week before to the major celebration, on January 16, 2024, Vedic rites will be performed for the Pran-Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of Ram Lalla (the child Lord Ram) in the Ram temple in Ayodhya. On January 22, Lakshmi Kant Dixit, a Vedic priest from Varanasi, would conduct the principal ceremonies of Ram Lalla’s consecration.

The Amrit Mahautsav will be celebrated in Ayodhya from January 14 to January 22. Additionally, a 1008 Hundi Mahayagya will be held, during which thousands will get meals.

On that day, between noon and 12:45 pm, the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust has chosen to enthrone Ram Lalla in the Ram temple’s sanctum sanctorum. Four thousand saints from every religion have been invited by the trust to the event.

PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on August 5, 2020.

It is important to remember that the 2019 ruling by the Supreme Court on the Ayodhya issue cleared the path for the building of a magnificent Ram temple.

The center established the Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust in response to the ruling of the Supreme Court to make all decisions pertaining to the building of a magnificent Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Under the Trust’s direction, the temple’s construction has been moving along steadily. The temple’s sanctum sanctorum will house the idol of Ram Lalla.

The Shri Ram Janambhoomi Trust previously released images of the elaborate carvings within the temple and the floor inlay work that is now underway at the Shri Ram Janambhoomi Mandir.
