Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday for raising the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) for sugarcane farmers, describing it as a crucial step on their path to wealth and independence.
The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister on Twitter, writing, “It is highly commendable that the Union Cabinet, led by respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the highest-ever Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) of sugarcane to Rs 315 per quintal for the sugar season 2023–24. The path to wealth for the sugarcane growers will take on new dimensions as a result of this choice. Farmers who are doing well now define the new India.
As a present to the nation’s sugarcane producers, the Modi administration has decided to raise the FRP of the crop. For the 2023–24 season, the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) of sugarcane has risen by Rs 10, to Rs 315 per quintal. The cost of sugarcane is now at an all-time high.

The decision would help lakhs of sugar mill employees in addition to Utar Pradesh’s five crore sugarcane growers, who will get higher pricing for their products.
