In UP, a 42-year-old salesman was killed after he refused to comply with a midnight booze demand

BIJNOR: Late on Thursday night, five men assaulted a salesperson at a liquor store in Fatehpur Kala village, which is within the jurisdiction of Heempur Deepa police station in the Bijnor district, for refusing to give them alcohol. While Virendra Singh, 42, of Kutubpur village was shutting the store for the evening with the help of a security guard, two bike-riding attackers demanded alcohol.

They beat Singh with sticks when he refused. On Friday morning, while receiving treatment in the hospital, Singh passed away from his wounds.
Under Section 302 of the IPC, the authorities have filed a complaint against five people: Pitam Singh from Ganwadi, Rajan from Daranagar Ganj, Sunil Kumar, Monu, and Dev from Chandanpur village. According to Bijnor SP Neeraj Kumar Jadaun, two squads have been formed to capture the offenders.
“Of the five accused, three are under custody, and the other two should be apprehended shortly. The people that were detained confessed to the crime,” he said.
