UP: Monkey In Shahabad Steals Rs. 1.5 Lakh From Bike
A monkey was seen on video on Tuesday swiping a backpack off a motorbike outside a register office in Shahabad, Uttar Pradesh, holding Rs 1.5 lakh.
A monkey is seen in the popular video inspecting the luggage on every bike parked outside the register office. After going through each bag, he flees with the one that had 1.5 lakhs in cash.
According to the report, the bike’s owner Sharafat Hussain visited the registrar office to get a selling deed.
When Mr. Hussain discovered the money had been taken, chaos broke out in front of the office. However, the monkey had already vanished by that time.
The monkey was eventually located perched on a tree after considerable searching. The group eventually succeeded in snatching the bag containing all the cash.
Following the event, district government representatives acknowledged that Shahabad was home to a monkey problem and said that a team would soon be engaged to catch and release the monkeys into the surrounding bush.
Anil Kumar, the deputy district magistrate for Shahabad, said that eradicating the monkey problem in the worst-affected regions will be their top priority. Then, when required, they would expand it across the area.
