Wrongly paid teachers' salaries, Lakhisarai DEO Ashwini Kumar suspended

The District Education Officer of Lakhisarai, Ashwini Kumar, has been charged with departmental charges for working against the rules. Bihar Sushil Kumar, Director (Administration) cum Additional Secretary, Education Department has suspended DEO Ashwini Kumar with immediate effect. On Friday, the Additional Secretary of the Education Department has issued a notification for the suspension of the DEO. According to the information, Lakhisarai DEO Ashwini Kumar was working as District Program Officer (Establishment) in Jamui district before posting in Lakhisarai district. During his tenure, he had ordered the payment of salaries of untrained teachers appointed after 30 March 2015 by the planning unit to the Block Education Officer, keeping the departmental rules in check.

DEO Ashwini Kumar has also been seriously accused of making undesirable and reprehensible allegations against the District Magistrate of Jamui, working against departmental rules and providing misleading and fraudulent reports. In this case, a charge sheet was prepared against Ashwini Kumar. On departmental instructions, the entire matter was investigated by the Regional Education Deputy Director, Munger. The investigation report was submitted to the department on 14 September 2021 by the Regional Education Deputy Director, Munger.

After examining the allegations made and after reviewing the defense statement received from Ashwini Kumar, all the allegations made in Form A were found prima facie to be true. Taking cognizance of this, the Director (Administrator) cum Additional Secretary, Education Department has suspended Lakhisarai DEO Ashwini Kumar. During the suspension period, the headquarters of Ashwini Kumar, Regional Education Deputy Director, Tirhut Divisional Office has been fixed. The payment of admissible subsistence allowance during the suspension period will be payable from the headquarters of the suspension period.

Anju Devi and her husband Rajeev Kumar Yadav, the head of Ahiro Panchayat, received death threats on their mobiles on Friday night. After this, Rajeev Kumar Yadav, a resident of Dumarjor village, has accused Amit Mandal and Munna Mandal, residents of Ahiro village, by apprehending it by applying to the police on Saturday.

By applying to the police, it is alleged that at around eight o'clock on Friday night, threats were made on his mobile. In this, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, Amit Mandal and Munna Mandal have asked to get their wife Mukhiya Anju Devi passed by speaking. If not done, both the husband and wife will have to lose their lives. Along with this, a demand has been made to give an extortion of fifty thousand rupees to both of them in each scheme.

Along with this, the head will not allow any kind of plan work to be done from the fund. The head husband has also alleged in the application that the panchayat's housing assistant, Bahamdev Yadav, has also been asked by both the accused to reverse the name in the list of housing scheme, demanding 50 thousand extortion.

The head husband told that the Panchayat Sarkar Bhawan is near the house of both the accused. Because of this, there is a fear of going there and working there. In this case, SHO Maheshwar Prasad Rai told that the application of the head husband has been received. The police is investigating the matter.

Here, the accused Amit told that the benefit of PM housing is being given by the headman to the pucca house. On its complaint, false allegation of extortion is being made.
