Zwigato day 2 box office earnings: Kapil Sharma's movie takes in 1 crore in India but requires a "miraculous rise"

The movie Zwigato, starring Shahana Goswami and Kapil Sharma, continued to perform poorly on Saturday even though it saw a little increase from its meager 43 lakhs debut. After two days of release, the poignant drama helmed by actor-director Nandita Das has earned 1.05 crore. The story centers on a meal delivery man and the challenges he faces working in the gig economy.

Taran Adarsh, a cinema trade expert, tweeted on Sunday about the movie's second-day earnings: "Zwigato experiences an upward trend on day 2 [+44.19 percent], however the 2-day total remains quite low owing to its business on day 1... For a decent weekend total, company must have a spectacular reversal or leap on day three. 43 lakh on Friday and 62 lakh on Saturday. 1.05 crore in total. Business in India.

The reviewers gave the movie favourable reviews. Kapil's portrayal as a food delivery man was highly acclaimed in the Hindustan Times review of the movie. "Sharma, as Manas, is as sincere and compelling as it gets," it said. In terms of his body language, demeanor, and particularly his dialogue delivery—which is devoid of his customary Punjabi touch—he undergoes a chameleon-like makeover. Sharma deserves a medal for getting it correctly. His ability to integrate humor and honesty in his performance without having you feel sorry for him or his circumstances is appealing and makes you grin.
Zwigato was originally intended to be a 20-minute short film, but Nandita Das subsequently chose to turn it into a feature film due to its intriguing subject matter. The movie was shown at the Busan International Film Festival, the International Film Festival of Kerala, and the Toronto International Film Festival.

Nandita said to ANI regarding her decision to cast Kapil in the lead role: "I didn't know much about Kapil Sharma since I hadn't seen his program. Then one day, I stumbled onto a video of Kapil at an awards ceremony. I had the aam aadmi ki tarah hai feeling after seeing the clip. His speech patterns and body language are those of the average male."
