Bengaluru Bed Scam: Surya gives communal color to Corona Bed scam, order for investigation in the case
Karnataka Chief Minister Yeddyurappa on Wednesday ordered the Crime Branch to probe the allegations leveled by BJP MP Tejashwi Surya, his uncle and two other MLAs in the Bangalore Kovid bad scam case. Tejashwi Surya also questioned the appointment of 17 Muslim personnel in the Bangalore Bruhat Mahanagar Palika (BBMP) war room. At the same time, Joint Commissioner (Crime) Sandeep Patil said that two police complaints have been filed. Four people, including a woman, have been arrested in the case. After Surya's complaint, the state's politics has become hot. Senior Congress leaders congratulated the MP and attacked the administration.
The investigation in this case, which surfaced on Tuesday, has also reached BBMP Commissioner Sarfaraz Nawaz. On Facebook, Nawaz said that he was not involved in bed allocation and was handling the Kovid Care Center and Solid Waste Management. According to the BBMP official, the case has been given a communal color by accusing me. I do not know about that department at all. Surya said that he did not take the name of Nawaz and apologized to the officer in this regard.

Police have identified two of the arrested people as Netravati and Rohit Kumar. He said the arrest was based on tip-off. Both were working as agents for booking beds in Bengaluru. Surya on Tuesday accused him of rigging in giving beds to Corona patients. He said that due to the scam, there was a shortage of beds. The MP said that there are some BBMP officers, Arogya Mitra (Hospital Liaison Officer) and some external agents, who took bribe for the bed scam. Beds were given to such people who paid. Surya said that the bed is blocked for 12 hours, after which it is sold. If the bed is not sold, it is unblocked again.
