The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Sunday finalized the programs related to the yatra and festivities for the annual Rath Yatra to be held in Puri city of Odisha. The SJTA, in a meeting with the members of the Chhatisa Nijog (apex body of temple servants), has decided that all those, including the servants, who participate in the rituals related to the Rath Yatra will have to undergo an RT-PCR test. This can also include people who have taken both doses of the Kovid-19 vaccine.

All the programs related to Rath Yatra will be organized in the absence of devotees. Only servants and officials associated with the temple administration will participate in the Rath Yatra. Puri District Magistrate Samarth Verma said that prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC will be in force around the temple during the bathing procession. In the Snan Yatra, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra are bathed. No one will be allowed to assemble on the Grand Road in front of the temple.

On June 24, the gods will be bathed

On June 24, on the day of Snan Purnima, the three deities will be bathed. Raja Dibyasingh Deb of Puri will clean the bathing place. After this the deities will be dressed in clothes and taken towards Anasara's house. It is believed that the deities become ill after bathing. After this religious rituals related to Anasara will be done, which will last for the next 15 days.
