Dress code and NCERT syllabus will be applicable in madrassas of Uttarakhand
NCERT syllabus and dress code will be implemented from the next academic session in madrassas under the Waqf Board in Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand Waqf Board chairman said that the dress code and NCERT syllabus are going to be implemented in all 103 madrassas that come under the purview of the board. In the first phase, 7 madrasas will be modern. Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams said that initially seven madrassas would be run on the lines of modern schools. Children of other religions will also be able to get an education in these madrasas. A dress code will be implemented in these 7 madrasas in the next academic session. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's consent has been received on the matter of implementing the dress code.
 
Dress code and NCERT syllabus implemented in 103 madrasas
Uttarakhand Waqf Board chairman said that the dress code and NCERT syllabus are going to be implemented in all 103 madrassas that come under the purview of the board. In this, in the first phase, two madrassas each from Dehradun, Udham Singh Nagar, and Haridwar, and one madrassa from Nainital district have been selected to run along the lines of modern schools.
 
Teaching of Quran from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, then from 8 to 2 pm madrassas will run like a normal school
 
In madrassas, Quran will be taught after the Fajr prayer from 6:30 am to 7:30 am. After this, from 8 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon, the madrassa will run like a normal school, while after 2 pm, it will again start running as a madrassa. Waqf Board chairman Shadab Shams said that the madrassas would be registered with the Uttarakhand Board and not the Madrassa Board. The state government is continuously making efforts for the modernization of madrassas only after the discussions regarding the survey of madrassas, while the opposition has termed it as polarization.
