The recruitment process started in Hisar under the Agneepath scheme, and 4 more rallies were conducted across India

Indian Army Recruitment Rally for 'Agniveer' under the Agneepath scheme has started in Hisar, Haryana. Major General Ranjan Mahajan said that we are organizing this rally on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. Under this, we are covering 4 districts namely Hisar, Fatehabad, Jind, and Sirsa. Along with this, he told that 4 more rallies are being organized all over India. From October to December, 85 recruitment rallies will be taken out. Apart from this, 11 rallies will be organized for the recruitment of women.

One participant said that I had dreamed of joining the army since childhood. I started preparing two years ago. There is an adequate arrangement of food and water. Agniveer is a welcome scheme. The Army, on the other hand, has started a six-week pre-recruitment training under the Agneepath scheme in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the official, the training program being conducted under the aegis of the Army's Anti-Insurgency Force (Delta) in remote Bujala and Mohbal villages began on August 6 and will end on September 20. Let us tell you that the Agneepath scheme, announced on June 14, has a provision to recruit youth in the age group of 17 and a half to 21 years in the army for four years, out of which 25 percent will be selected for regular service after four years.

Let us tell you that there were protests across the country regarding the Agneepath scheme. At the same time, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh called it a transformational plan. Rajnath Singh had said that the Agneepath scheme for recruitment in the armed forces will be reviewed annually by the government and if any shortcomings or challenges arise, they will be suitably resolved. The Defense Minister said that the plan has been finalized after two years of brainstorming with key stakeholders. He termed the plan "transformative". The upper age limit for recruitment has been increased from 21 years to 23 years for the year 2022. Violent demonstrations were held in many parts of the country against the scheme as there is no employment guarantee for 75 percent of the youth recruited under the scheme.
