The Samajwadi Party’s Rampur choice is boycotted by Azam Khan’s followers

Once thought to be Azam Khan’s stronghold, the Rampur LS seat is currently the scene of a fierce internal dispute within the SP as Azam’s followers—the bulk of the party’s district unit workers—do not support Muhibullah Nadvi, the imam of a mosque in Delhi, who has been granted the party ticket for the seat.

Nadvi, on the other hand, has adopted a combative attitude.

Nadvi is putting on a brave front, but it is noticeable that few party members attend his rallies. However, he asserted that everything is “under control”.
“While differences existed initially, they have been resolved, and we stand united,” said Ajay Sagar, president of the SP district.
Former district president Virendra Goyal refuted Sagar’s claim, saying, “Azam’s decision to nominate an external candidate without consulting us has led to unrest among party members.”
