Meerut : Police station Kankarkheda in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday seized more than three quintals of charas being smuggled from Odisha. In the international market, its value has been estimated at about five crores. Police have arrested four accused who are smuggling Charas. The recovered charas was hidden in a separate box under the seat in the bus.
District police spokesperson said that on the information of the informer, police station led by Inspector-in-charge of police station Kankarkheda Tapeshwar Sagar stopped a bus (UP 14 GT 0049) on the highway near Jatoli and smuggled it from Odisha. Charas was recovered. He said that Arjun Saini, Vinay, Ankit and Naresh have been arrested in the case. Police are searching for other accused involved in smuggling.
