Uttar Pradesh: Police is preparing to attach the property of IPS Manilal in connection with the death of Mahoba's crusher businessman
Preparations have been made to attach properties worth about 50-60 crores of fugitive IPS Manilal Patidar in connection with the death of a crusher businessman of Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh (Uttar Pradesh). One lakh reward has already been declared on IPS Patidar and he is absconding for the last 8 months. Let us tell you that within a month, Patidar was to appear before the court, but he did not. So on Monday night, a case has been registered against him in Kabrai police station under section 174A on the complaint of SIT investigator Prayagraj SP Crime Ashutosh Mishra.
Manilal Patidar, a resident of Dungarpur in Rajasthan, is a 2014 batch IPS officer. The Anti-Corruption Court of Lucknow has issued a warrant against Manilal Patidar. For his arrest, SIT has been constituted from the level of IG range.
Police is scouting well-known and benami properties
After Manilal Patidar's absconding, Prayagraj Police has started digging his well-known and benami properties. In the investigation so far, it has been found that Manilal Patidar has bought a flat in the name of his father Ramji Patidar in Rajasthan. Apart from this, three other properties including shop house have also been found. According to police sources, so far a total of 5 properties of Manilal Patidar have been identified, which are in Rajasthan. The market price of this property is around 50-60 crores. The police are now planning to attach them. Soon the police will attach the properties by applying in the court.
Allahabad High Court made strict remarks
In May, the Allahabad High Court had made a strong comment on the non-arrest of Manilal Patidar. After which three teams from Mahoba district and two teams from Prayagraj district have been deployed to arrest the fugitive IPS. In which the team of STF is also included. Surprisingly, despite the involvement of five teams, the absconding IPS has not been found yet. The police team has returned after searching Patidar till Rajasthan.
Action will be taken after identifying all the properties
SP Crime Prayagraj Ashutosh Mishra says that teams are engaged in search of the absconding accused. At the same time, after identifying all the properties of the accused, further legal process will also be done.
IPS Manilal is the main accused in the suicide case
Indrakant Tripathi, a crusher businessman of Mahoba district, was shot on 8 September 2020 under suspicious circumstances. He died on 13 September 2020 after being treated in a hospital in Kanpur for about 5 days. Earlier, on 7 September 2020, Indrakant had released a video, accusing Patidar of making serious allegations and fearing that he would kill himself.
It was alleged that Patidar had demanded a bribe of Rs 6 lakh for doing business. Had threatened to kill or send him to jail if he did not give. After the death of Indrakant, his brother Ravikant had lodged an FIR against Manilal Patidar, former SP of Mahoba, then Inspector Devendra of Kabrahi police station and constable Arun and two others.
